We wanted to take some time to resolve some rumors we have actually recently heard. Sometimes our messages get misinterpreted as permanent or taken out of context. PLEASE READ the whole post!
# 1. We DO service most makes and models of quality non-electric bicycles. We do schedule the right to decline to work on a bike if we deem that it would not be cost-efficient, safe, and/or if it’s not something that we feel falls within our wheelhouse of know-how or quality requirements.
This consists of bicycles acquired from outlet store such as Walmart & Target.
# 2. We DO service electric help bikes, however, they must satisfy at least among the following criteria:
A. If your ebike was bought here, we WILL deal with it. WE SERVICE ANY EBIKE WE SELL.
B. If your ebike was NOT bought from us, however it IS a brand that we sell AND has a MID-DRIVE motor, we will deal with it. This includes Trek, Specialized, Electra, and Batch.
C. If your ebike has a Bosch electric system, no matter the brand of the ebike, we will deal with it.
If your e-bike doesn’t meet any of these qualifications we will attempt to advise a store that may work on your bike.
# 3. We may post on our Facebook/Instagram/Website if we are requiring to TEMPORARILY restrict or pause our intake of service work. We do this so we have an opportunity to catch up if we are ending up being strained during the beginning of the main biking season. Truth be told, we can just save numerous bicycles at one time! Once we are caught up, we will release a post letting folks understand that we are accepting service work again. Somehow, past posts have actually been misinterpreted and folks believe we no longer service bikes any longer.
# 4. We accept service work throughout the year!
Please keep in mind that we’ve constantly encouraged folks to bring bikes in for service at the END of their riding season. The very best time to get your bike serviced quickly is at any time in between October-January. If you are one that likes to have their bicycle serviced before the riding season starts, bring your bike in at the END of your riding season. That way we can deal with it when you don’t require it AND it’s prepared for the start of your riding season in the spring!
In the spring/summer season we are extremely busy and you WILL experience a lot longer turnaround times. This will never change.
We hope this clarifies a couple of things, and we motivate folks to reach out if there are any concerns! Thank you a lot for your continued support in assisting to sustain your locally-owned, independent bike store!
